"Low Tech Enough To Care - High Tech Enough To Understand"

One Call Does It All! No Job Is Too Small.

“Handyman” is Passe

“Residential Engineers” are of the coming. I love creating new names and being a ‘gearhead’ it sounds so appropriate to what I do.

Recently I went to the local Home and Garden Show and witnessed advancing technology. Technology has grown so quickly in the last 10 years, it takes a specialist to install or repair anything. $650 garage door openers that operate silently and warranted for ever, but require a specialist to repair them. $650 hot water heaters than use less energy because they are so well insulated and last for many more years because there are not any parts to rust; the local electric company installs them with a $150 rebate.

We have become aware of energy efficiency because of the high demand for electricity depleting fossil fuels . Alternative methods such as wind and solar are not viable and dependable  yet. Our electrical rates will be increasing soon and a time will come that we will have to turn off our electrical appliances during peak periods. Slowly we are required to replace our energy sapping archaic appliances with energy efficient alternatives.

Homes are being better  insulated. Light bulbs that require less electrical energy are encouraged. Solar lamps in being installed in gardens or at least use low voltage systems for safety. Gardens with drip systems monitored with electric inputs telling when to add water save hundreds of gallons. Yet, we keep adding more gadgets demanding more energy.

Point is that the need Residential Engineers who keep up with the latest technology are becoming in demand. They evaluate energy use and make suggestions and corrections where applicable. Homes  need to be safe and in  peak condition to maintain value and presence.

When you need some consulting for you home, please remember us.
